Exhibition history"Beyond Boundary: The Expansion of Edges" merges the ethereal art of projection mapping with the natural canvas of a pond, transforming the art space by blurring its traditional confines. In this immersive experience, the mundane—stones, dirt, leaves—submerged in water, are reborn through light into a realm of ambiguous and otherworldly hues. This visual spectacle serves as a metaphor for the fluidity and depth of the female experience, particularly within the context of the Asian Women Community, highlighting themes of immigrant identity and the complexities of language.
By integrating the natural element of water, this work not only explores its symbolism of purity and renewal but also connects it intricately with the essence of womanhood. Water becomes a mirror reflecting the multifaceted experiences of Asian immigrant women, symbolizing their resilience, the cleansing of past burdens, and the nourishment required for new beginnings.
"Beyond Boundary" is more than a performance; it's a dialogue—a vibrant forum that invites engagement with broader social and cultural discourses. This piece does not shy away from the complexities of navigating between worlds, instead, it embraces these experiences to address and illuminate the broader issues affecting the Asian Women Community. Through the fusion of art and technology, alongside the powerful symbol of water interwoven with the narratives of women, the performance breaks down barriers, extending beyond the physical and metaphorical boundaries that define our spaces and our stories.
